Sponsor a Field Trip
Through our Field Trip Bus Grant Program (now renamed The Jean Diehl Field Trip Fund), we grant funding to schools and organizations that enables students to come to the refuge for field trips. By sponsoring a field trip, you are providing a classroom of children with an enriching experience that connects them with nature and wildlife. Email info@fohrefuge.org if you would like to sponsor a field trip.
Give the Gift of a Membership
Purchase a membership for that friend, family member, or significant other who shares the same passion for wildlife as you do. Along with a membership card, the giftee will receive a personalized letter with wording provided by you. Please email wording to info@fohrefuge.org. Click here to get started!
Tribute Gifts
Our Leaving a Legacy Program provides an opportunity for you to honor and remember a friend, family member, or significant other. We have a number of programs and projects you can support in honor and memory of someone. Call 215-558-5220 or email info@fohrefuge.org to schedule an initial meeting to discuss what opportunities are available to you.

Serve on the Board of Directors
By serving on the board, you are helping FOHR make key decisions on programming and projects that take place at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. Board members act as a support system for the refuge and fill in the gaps by providing necessary resources, facilitating refuge events, and soliciting new donors and members. Our board meetings take place the second Tuesday of every month from 5-7 PM in the Heinz Refuge visitor center (subject to change). Email info@fohrefuge.org if you’re interested in attending our next board meeting.
Volunteer in the FOHR Nature Store
This is the perfect volunteer opportunity for individuals who are unable to participate in more physically-demanding tasks like invasive species removal or trail maintenance. As a store volunteer, you will be able to connect with other volunteers and visitors while also providing important insight on product selection and display. We invite you to share your ideas on how we can continue to grow and improve our store!
The FOHR Nature Store is located inside the visitor center and has a great selection of merchandise that reflects the natural biodiversity of the region. Net proceeds help the refuge fund their ongoing educational and public use programs.
